Meet the team

I am extremely excited to be part of this ground-breaking setting. As a teacher with many years’ experience of working with young children and their families, and as a mum to four girls, I have always held the importance of secure and loving relationships at the heart of everything we do in a nursery.

Through the creation of The Nursery in Belong we hope to develop and extend relationships across generations that support authentic learning opportunities and experiences. We aim to develop our children to be past-aware and future-ready for every stage of their lives.

Liz Ludden, Nursery Registered Person

The Nursery in Belong is an exciting opportunity for the new generation to enjoy rich and authentic intergenerational experiences in a modern and progressive environment. As the first example of a nursery embedded in the heart of a care village, it builds on years of intergenerational best practice and promises to enable young and old alike to share experiences, forge relationships and learn from one another.

We look forward to welcoming your children to The Nursery in Belong as they embark on their first journey with us.

Our team is aware that children’s early years are the foundation to future well-being and learning. All are trained in relational practice and the importance of building strong relationships at every age. We provide an enjoyable, stimulating and safe, home from home environment for all children who attend our nursery and the older residents who enjoy time alongside the children.

We employ fully qualified early years practitioners, who all hold professional qualifications in Childcare and Education. We also employ Early Years Apprentice Assistants who are working towards completing NVQ Level 2/3 in Childcare and Education. All staff hold a current paediatric first aid certificate.

There is also a fully registered nurse and clinical team available in the care village at all times.

Our team is committed to giving each individual child the best possible start by working in partnership with parents, carers and wider family. Practitioners use their knowledge and experience of child development to plan activities and experiences to encourage and enhance learning for all individual children. This includes activities, experiences and opportunities to enjoy time and learning alongside residents of Belong Chester.

We are deeply committed to continuous professional development to improve outcomes for children, families and residents. This includes feedback from nursery parents and carers, residents and the children themselves!
